Residents on four Livingston streets on high alert after car stolen and others broken into

Residents on four different Livingston streets are on high alert after a car was stolen and others were broken into this week.

Thieves took a black Vaxhall Insignia from outside a house on Easter Bankton at around 5.50am on Tuesday (19 January). Officers say enquiries into the circumstances surrounding this theft are ongoing.

Later that morning two other vehicles – a Seat Ibiza and a red Peugeot Expert taxi – were broken into in Fiddich Drive and Nigel Rise. A two-figure sum of cash was stolen from each.

Police say people were seen "acting suspiciously" around other vehicles on Easter Bankton and Teviot Drive on the same day, although nothing else was stolen and no additional damage was done.

Officers want anyone who knows anything about either incident to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "If you have any information on the incidents, then please call officers at Livingston Police Station via 101 quoting reference number 0377 of Tuesday, 19 January, 2021 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given anonymously."
