A community has been left 'terrified' after police were called to reports of a man's body being discovered in a street.
Lawson Street in Radford was cordoned off following the unexplained and sudden death shortly after 6am on Wednesday, June 2.
Residents in the area have now raised safety concerns, with some saying they avoid leaving their house on foot and lock their doors as soon as they get home.
Retired Ivonne Smith, 83, has been a resident of Lawson street for 33 years and said: "It is shocking, but I got used to it.
"This is a rough area, and it is not particularly safe to be out and about.
"I do not get out at all, someone else is doing the shopping for me.
"I have considered moving somewhere else but I have got nowhere to go - I have a nice flat here.
"There are nice local people living around here as well, we do speak to each other, but you have to be careful."
Ms Smith said thing could improve in the Nottingham area that she has called home for three decades, adding: "It is such a pity that there is so much rubbish on the street, and strange people walking down the road."

Two construction workers who were operating on a site on the same road also aired concerns.
Sam Tunnicilffe, 37, said: "We see a lot of homeless people down here, they sometimes come on site as well.
"It is a rough area, so I am not surprised.
"We went to the shop the other day and there were people shouting in our face."
His colleague Mark Jones, 34, added: "It is a matter of time when something like that happens in a place like this.
"I feel bad for the residents.
"At the end of the day we are getting paid to come here, but what about them?
"They must be terrified."
On Wednesday, Detective inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are still in the early stages of our investigation and are working hard to understand what has happened.
"The man’s death is currently being treated as unexplained and our enquiries remain ongoing.
“We are keen to establish the circumstances surrounding his death and I’d urge anyone who has any information to please call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 77 of 2 June 2021.”
