Residents left in stitches following bizarre road markings error

Locals from a village in Yorkshire were left in stitches after spotting a road marking error.

Residents from Mytholmroyd spotted that the bus stop sign on one of the roads had been repainted.

But there was a blinding spelling mistake, and the sign now read 'BUS STUP', instead of 'BUS STOP'.

Many people in the area took to Facebook to comment on the hilarious gaff, Yorkshire Live reports.

One commentor said: “That’s what’s gonna happen if England lose on Wednesday.”

Another said: “But no seriously this needs to stup.”

It is not clear who made the error, but usually the contractors who carry out the works are provided with a work order by the council and carry that out- to the letter.

Last week, c lumsy paintwork by Northern Gas in nearby Old Town was met with both praise and scorn after photos of the wonky painting were posted to Facebook.
