Several homes have been evacuated after ‘possible ordinance’ was discovered within a property in Edinburgh.

Police officers and a specialist bomb disposal unit are in attendance on Comely Bank Street after being called to the scene at around 2.35pm on Tuesday.

A large cordon has been put in place with a number of neighbouring properties evacuated as precaution.

Police Scotland have confirmed they remain at the scene but say there is no wider risk to the public.
