Parts of a Scots village were evacuated after an unexploded bomb, believed to date back to World War 1, was discovered.
The device was found within a property on Edinburgh Road in West Barns, East Lothian.
Officers rushed to the scene at around 2.10pm on Tuesday, March 8 and evacuated a number of homes in the general area.
It is also understood that a sports centre in the village was also evacuated as a precautionary measure around two hours later.
According to locals, police discovered a war time device in the area before a cordon was put in place as EOD attended the scene.
They removed the item and the cordon was taken down at 5.45pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.10pm on Tuesday 8 March, officers were called to a report of historical unexploded ordnance found in a property on Edinburgh Road, West Barns.
"Officers attended and a cordon was put in place and a number of houses were evacuated as a precaution.
"The EOD attended and removed the item. The cordon was removed at 5.45pm.”
