Residents of a north Dublin building were evacuated after a car smashed into a hairdresser's.

Emergency services rushed to the incident on Friday night in Edenmore, Raheny at around 11 pm on Friday night.

Shocking images show a car on fire after it rammed into the storefront of the hair salon.

Local woman Natasha Blake, who took the images, told Dublin Live her friend and her young child who lived above the salon had to be evacuated in the middle of the night.

Sharing a picture of the storefront the next morning, she said: "I reckon the fire brigade got there in time because there doesn't seem to be crazy damage inside the shop."
