RESIDENTS have been evacuated after a derelict building collapsed in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called to Glasgow's Kenmure Street shortly after midnight following reports of a collapsed tenement building at the corner of Albert Drive.
Eight appliances were sent to the scene with firefighters working to make the area safe.
(Image: Fatima Uygun) Several residents living in nearby building were evacuated and there are no reported injuries as a result of the collapse.
Pictures from the scene show much of the building, which had been fenced off, have collapsed with just some of the outer walls left standing.
An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 12.09am on Saturday, July 12 to reports of a collapsed derelict building on Kenmure Street in Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised eight appliances to the scene.
"A number of nearby residents have been evacuated as firefighters work to make the area safe.
"There are no reported casualties."
A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said an inspection of the site will be carried out later on Saturday.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
