Residents can get their running shoes on for Sport Relief Mile

Residents are being urged to get their running shoes on and get active to help a good cause.

Local heroes from West Dunbartonshire will be able to sign up and walk, jog or run themselves proud during the Balloch Run’n’Park Sport Relief Mile to raise lifechanging money for Sport Relief 2020 by taking part in the one-mile or three-mile events.

The colourful, cheerful and eager milers will be doing their bit to make a difference to people living across the UK and the world’s poorest communities.

Setting off from inside the Main Gates to Balloch Country Park on Balloch Road at 9.30am on Saturday, the route will take in the top sights of Balloch Country Park along with Balloch Castle and the walled garden.

Maurice Donohue from West Dunbartonshire AC, which is organising the event along with Vale of Leven Academy, said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in West Dunbartonshire is here and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud.

“From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”
