Residents asked for their views on plans to regenerate land near Balloch Station

Residents are being given the chance to share their opinions on plans to regenerate land close to Balloch Station.

West Dunbartonshire Council is keen to hear feedback on the proposals for Station Square and on what more could be done to encourage active travel in and around Balloch with the consultation opening today (Monday).

People will have three weeks to share their views on plans which also include wider pavements, new seating and street lightning and also new traffic calming measures on Balloch Road.

These measures will also give priority to pedestrian and cyclists and create a better and safer connection between the Railway Station and the Tourist Information Centre as well as any future developments at West Riverside.

Infrastructure, regeneration and economic development convener, Councillor Iain McLaren said: “Our residents are at the heart of everything we do so it is important that they have every opportunity to have their say and help us shape the work being done in their community.

“We want to hear their views on our plans to regenerate an area in the heart of Balloch which will be appreciated by residents and visitors to the area. As a Council we are committed to improving the wellbeing of our communities and encouraging economic growth, and the development of sites like this one can help us deliver on both of those ambitions. I hope as many people as possible will and view and give feedback on our exciting plans.”

Feedback forms are also available until November 15 at the Co-op Supermarket, Carrochan Road, Balloch and the Vale medical centre.
