Residents across Glasgow dealing with disruption to water supply

Residents across Glasgow have had to deal with interruptions to their water supply this morning.

A burst water main is causing disruption for residents in in the G33 area in the north east of city, which takes in the likes of Blackhill, Ruchazie, Stepps and Cranhill.

Scottish Water has confirmed a burst water pipe to be the source of the problem, with a full repair estimated to be completed by around 10am this morning.

Meanwhile, residents in the G44 area in the south east of the city (taking in the likes of Croftfoot, Muirend and Netherlee) are also experiencing disruption to their water supply.

Scottish Water are currently investigating the cause of the disruption.

Residents in the G33 area are advised that, while the repair work is carried out, they will experience no water supply, low or intermittent pressure or discoloured water.

The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed.
