Residential burglaries reported in Edgewater Beach: police

Police are warning North Side residents of a series of home burglaries reported over the last few weeks in Edgewater Beach.

In each case, someone forced their way into the residences by kicking open a door and made off with property from inside, Chicago police said in an alert.

The burglaries happened:

  • At 6 p.m. Sept. 22 in the 5300 block of North Winthrop Avenue
  • At 1 p.m. Sept. 27 in the 5500 block of North Winthrop Avenue
  • Between 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. Oct. 7-8 in the 5400 block of North Kenmore Avenue
  • Between 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. Oct. 7-8 in the 5400 block of North Kenmore Avenue.

A description of any suspects was not immediately available.
