'Resident Evil Survival Unit' x 'Monster Hunter' Crossover Event Brings Capcom's Best Together

A new release from Capcom brings a treat to both "Resident Evil" and "Monster Hunter" fans as the famed Japanese action fantasy RPG is making its way to the "Resident Evil's" mobile-based horror game.

The event is live now and will run through the end of the month, giving players several weeks to dive into what is being described as the game's first crossover since its release.

'Resident Evil Survival Unit' x 'Monster Hunter' Crossover Event

Capcom has officially kicked off a major crossover event that brings two of its biggest gaming franchises together.

Starting today, "Monster Hunter" content has begun appearing inside "Resident Evil Survival Unit," the free-to-play mobile spinoff released late last year.

The event lets players hunt down iconic monsters from the "Monster Hunter" series within the world of "Resident Evil."

The three confirmed creatures featured in the crossover are the Rathalos, one of the most recognizable monsters in the "Monster Hunter" franchise and known as the King of the Skies, along with the Yian Kut-Ku and the Silver Rathalos.

According to ComicBook Gaming, each brings a different kind of challenge, from mission-based hunts to strategic battles that test how players manage their resources and units.

Two collab-exclusive Hunter characters will also be available to unlock during the event, both themed around the "Monster Hunter" crossover.

Alongside those characters, players can earn limited-time customization items including new Base skins and March skins to outfit their "Resident Evil Survival Unit" roster with some "Monster Hunter" flair.

Start, End Date on 'RE' x 'Monster Hunter' Crossover

The "Resident Evil Survival Unit" x "Monster Hunter" crossover event went live at 8 p.m. ET on July 1 and will remain active through July 29. That gives players roughly four weeks to complete the event content, unlock the exclusive Hunter characters, and collect the limited-time cosmetics before everything disappears from the game.

Players who want the collab-exclusive rewards will need to log in and participate before the event ends, as none of the event content is expected to return after the July 29 deadline.

What to Expect From The Capcom Crossover

Beyond the monster hunts, the event also brings mini-games and additional content inspired by the "Monster Hunter" universe, though Capcom and JOYCITY have kept specifics on those elements light ahead of players discovering them in-game.

"Resident Evil Survival Unit" is a free-to-play mobile strategy game co-developed by JOYCITY and Capcom, available on both iOS and Android. It dropped late last year and carries a 4.6-star rating on the Apple App Store, placing it among the top strategy games on the platform.

The game drops players into the post-apocalyptic world of "Resident Evil," building and managing survivor bases while fending off bioweapon threats across a series of tactical missions.

This is its first major crossover event since launch, and partnering with "Monster Hunter," arguably Capcom's biggest global franchise of the past decade, makes for a high-profile debut for the format. Capcom is no stranger to blending its franchises in unexpected ways, and this collab extends that tradition to the mobile space.
