'Resident Evil' 30th Anniversary Showcase Is Coming This Fall—What Has Capcom Confirmed About It?

Capcom is extending its "Resident Evil" 30th anniversary celebrations with the franchise's biggest retrospective event yet that follows a string of smaller tie-ins and collaborations throughout the year.

The publisher has now confirmed full details for an immersive showcase meant to bring three decades of the survival horror series to life for fans.

New 'Resident Evil' 30th Anniversary Showcase

Capcom officially confirmed "THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD 30th Anniversary Exhibition" will run from October 30 through December 24, 2026, marking the first large-scale exhibition ever held for the franchise.

The event takes place at BEAM Gallery on the fourth floor of Shibuya BEAM in Tokyo, located roughly five minutes on foot from Shibuya Station, and is organized in collaboration with Tohokushinsha Film.

"Resident Evil," known in Japan as "Biohazard," first launched in 1996 and helped define the survival horror genre by challenging players to escape dangerous situations while carefully managing limited weapons and items.

As of March 31, the series has sold more than 201 million copies worldwide, a milestone Capcom is leaning into heavily as it builds out this anniversary showcase.

Capcom Is Inviting Fans to Join the Celebration

Advance lottery applications opened to Biohazard Portal members on July 3 and ran through July 19, with results and payment confirmation following from July 24 through July 27. Fans hoping to enter the members-only lottery needed to register with a Capcom ID and sign up for the Biohazard Portal ahead of time.

General ticket sales then opened to the public through Ticket Pia on July 30, with all tickets issued for specific dates and time slots.

Portal members who secured advance tickets during the lottery window also received a limited-edition pin set featuring 22 notable titles from across the franchise's history, with only around 2,500 of those tickets made available.

The venue will be open daily, running from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekends throughout the exhibition's 56-day run.

What to Expect From 'RE' 30th Anniversary Showcase

The exhibition is divided into seven themed areas, four of which Capcom has detailed so far. The event opens with "THE WORLD OF BIOHAZARD Theater," a cinematic presentation featuring memorable scenes from across the series projected on a large screen.

From there, "Evidence of Horror" explores the biological threats that have shaped the franchise, including viruses, parasites, and fungi, paired with original development materials and life-size villain sculptures.

Another section, "Memories of Those Who Stood Against Them," follows the series' protagonists from their earliest appearances through the latest entries using artwork, development materials, and character information. This includes life-size statues of Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft.

The final confirmed area is a dedicated "GOODS SHOP," an official "Resident Evil" store, though Capcom has not yet revealed exactly what merchandise will be sold there. The remaining three sections are still listed as "Coming Soon," with additional details expected as the October opening date approaches.
