Resident Evil 3 remake coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC

Capcom has confirmed that the long-rumoured Resident Evil 3 remake will be be available next year.

The game developer made the announcement during Sony's State of Play live stream, revealing the release date will be 3 April, 2020.

The remake will be available for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Steam for PC players.

The iconic game is already available for pre-order, with players able to choose between the Standard Edition and a special Collector's Edition.

The Collector's Edition, which costs $179.99, comes with posters of the game, a book, the soundtrack and a statue of female protagonist Jill Valentine.

The announcement comes just months after a hugely popular remake of Resident Evil 2, which saw players attempt to escape Raccoon City during a zombie apocalypse.

The reimagined Resident Evil 3 takes place a few days before the action in the second chapter, with players controlling Valentine to tackle the zombie outbreak.

"Just like the remake of Resident Evil 2 earlier this year, you’re in for a new viewpoint as you explore Raccoon City, with an over the shoulder camera placing you right in the thick of the action as you navigate abandoned streets and iconic locations," Capcom wrote in a blog post.

A trailer for the game has already racked up thousands of views within minutes of being published online.
