Resident dies after woman breaks into her home

A WOMAN suffered a medical episode and died after a woman allegedly broke into her Anna Bay home on Wednesday.

Police said emergency services were called to a home on Old Main Road about 12.20am on Wednesday after reports of a break and enter.

It's alleged that a woman attended the home about 11pm and spoke to the two occupants - two women aged 59 and 37. Police said that the women were known to each other.

The woman left but allegedly returned an hour later and entered the home through a window. The younger resident escorted her out the front door, police said.

The older woman was soon found suffering a medical episode. She was treated at the scene by paramedics before she was taken to John Hunter hospital. She died a short time later.

Police said a 47-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Raymond Terrace police station. She was charged with break and enter commit serious indictable offence.

She was due to face Raymond Terrace Local Court on Wednesday.

Police said a report would be prepared for the coroner.
