WELLINGTON (Reuters) - The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) is widely expected to hold its cash rate at 1.75 percent at its monetary policy meeting on Thursday, a Reuters poll of economists found.
All 16 economists thought the RBNZ would stand pat on June 28. All but one of the 14 economists who made projections beyond Thursday's decision thought the bank would keep rates steady through to the end of the first quarter of 2019.
Eight of 14 economists predicted the bank would hike rates by the end of the third quarter of 2019.
Economists were asked what the cash rate would be after the next Reserve Bank meeting on June 28 and where rates would be at the end of the following five quarters.
