Rescue helicopter called to two incidents in 12 hours

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was called to two incidents in the Hunter and Central Coast regions in 24 hours.

About 9.15pm, three Ambulance NSW crews responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on the northbound lane of the M1 Motorway at Tuggerah.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was called to assist at 9.45pm.

Upon arrival, they found a man, believed to be in his mid to late 30s, with head injuries.

Ambulance NSW paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care medical team treated his injuries on scene and transported him to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

On Friday morning, a rescue helicopter was sent to a horse stud at Jerrys Plains following reports a horse had kicked 22-year-old man in the head.

Upon arrival, emergency services crews found the man with cuts to his head.

Ambulance NSW paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care medical team treated the man who is now in a stable condition.
