Rescue dogs’ day in spotlight

Rescue dogs have been getting a taste of Hollywood by putting their paw print on a walk of fame.

The walkway guides potential dog owners through the reception area at Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in West Calder.

It forms part of a month-long campaign to find homes for dogs which have been at the centre for some time.

Border collie Bailey is nine years old and loves to be in the great outdoors, going for walks where he can do lots of exploring, play with toys or spend a sunny afternoon rolling around in the grass. Bailey likes to be in the company of people he knows and needs a calm and quiet environment.

The last Sunday of each month will be Spotlight Sunday at the centre.

Manager Susan Tonner said: “Spotlight Sunday is the perfect opportunity for potential dog owners to find out more about our dogs with star potential, their loves and dreams.

“We have plenty of pooches who are waiting for their moment to shine.

“We want them to have every opportunity to be seen by potential owners and given a chance to fulfil their potential as family pets.”

Spotlight Sunday will start this weekend at the Bentyhead centre.
