An animal rescue centre is looking for a woman to rehome one of their resident dogs.
Carla Lane Animals in Need are hoping to find a female owner to look after Marley, who is struggling to find a permanent home.
The young Beagle has been with the charity in Melling for over a year and has been tried at four different homes now but is yet to find the right fit.
After his last home, the charity want an experienced woman to be his new owner as he developed separation anxiety and attached himself to his previous female owner.
Charlotte, his buddy and a spokesperson for the charity, told TeamDogs : "It’s been trial and error with him unfortunately, finding what kind of home he needs but we are hoping that another dog in the home may help him and show him how to be a good boy."
"We feel Marley’s ideal home would be an active female owner, with experience in challenging dogs, who is willing to work with our trainer to continue the training program."
Marley is believed to be between two and three years old and is described as a strong character who loves to run and play, especially in the garden.
He walks well on the lead and is good with other dogs and although he is great with people when out and about, he can have some issues with strangers inside his home.
However, he is crate trained so will happily take himself to his own space when visitors arrive or he can be introduced to them and can be easily won over with a tasty treat.
Marley has guarding issues but recently underwent a training program to improve these.
Charlotte added: "We enrolled Marley onto a residential training program in which he did absolutely fantastic and greatly improved.
"Although Marley does have guarding issues, he has never shown this behaviour around other dogs so we are open for him to be homed with another lovely female dog.
"Marley is a typical younger beagle boy and is full of energy, the other dog in the home must also be lively."
The charity states that Marley has bitten in a previous home but with the help of their behaviourist they believe he will come on leaps and bounds in an experienced environment.
Carla Lane Animals in Need can be found on Spurriers Lane, Melling, where they are open daily from 2pm to 4pm for potential adopters to view animals.
They rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs, cats, rabbits and farmyard animals.
