Republic of Ireland U21s defender Dara O'Shea scores first senior goal for Premier League chasers West Brom

Republic of Ireland prospect Dara O'Shea has continued his rise through the ranks at West Brom by scoring his first senior goal for the Championship leaders today.

The 20-year-old centre-half, a key man for Stephen Kenny's Ireland U21s side, has put himself on Mick McCarthy's radar ahead of a crunch Euro 2020 playoff next month.

An 84th minute header from the Dubliner sealed a 2-0 win over Millwall this afternoon in what is his fourth consecutive start for Slaven Bilic's men.

His impressive form earned him a three-and-a-half year deal with the Baggies last month, and it could see him squeeze into the Ireland picture in the coming weeks.

But the Boys in Green aren't short of options in the heart of the defence, with Shane Duffy, John Egan and Ciaran Clark all Premier League regulars.

And he'll also have to contend with Kevin Long, Derrick Williams and Darragh Lenihan for a possible place on the plane to Slovakia.
