Republic of Ireland team to play Wales: Stephen Kenny names starting XI

Stephen Kenny has named his Republic of Ireland team to face Wales at the Aviva Stadium this afternoon.

The FAI confirmed this morning that a senior player has tested positive for Covid-19 and will today's game and Wednesday's clash with Finland.

John Egan, Callum Robinson, Callum O’Dowda and Alan Browne also miss the match with Wales after being deemed closed close contacts of the player that tested positive.

David McGoldrick and James McCarthy miss the game through injury.

Darren Randolph starts in goal for today's match, with Matt Doherty, Shane Duffy, Kevin Long Enda Stevens playing in defence.

Conor Hourihane and Jeff Hendrick retain their partnership in midfield, with Jayson Molumby coming into the side to join them.

Shane Long starts up front and will be assisted by James McClean and Robbie Brady on the wings.

The team in full is: Randolph, Doherty, Duffy, K. Long, Stevens, Hourihane, Hendrick, Molumby, McClean, S. Long, Brady.
