Republic of Ireland star Leanne Kiernan was on top form for Liverpool this afternoon, firing a six-minute hat-trick in a 6-0 hammering of Blackburn in the FA Women's Championship.
The 22-year-old former Shelbourne striker has scored 11 goals in 12 games in all competitions for the Reds since swapping West Ham United for Merseyside last summer.
Cavan native Kiernan struggled to find her best form towards the end of her time at West Ham and later revealed she had been battling painful shin splints for a number of months.
But Kiernan has returned to full fitness and her three-goal tally included a stunning right-footed effort which curled inside the top corner.
Kiernan's Ireland team-mate Niamh Fahey put Liverpool 1-0 up in the first half before her personal goal blitz just after half-time.
She notched her first of the day in the 52nd minute and hit the net twice more within the next six minutes of play.
The win puts Liverpool five points clear of Durham at the top of the Championship as Kiernan and Co target a top-flight spot next season.
