Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Darren Randolph expected to make West Ham return in next 48 hours

Darren Randolph is reportedly rejoining West Ham in the next two days to help solve their goalkeeping crisis.

Randolph spent two seasons in the Premier League with the Hammers before moving to Middlesbrough in 2017, where he has been in impressive form.

But the 32-year-old was notably absent from Boro's squad in their 1-1 FA Cup draw with Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, and, according to The Athletic, Randolph is heading back to London in a deal worth £4 million.

The Hammers were also interested in Cardiff's Neil Etheridge and Stoke's Jack Butland as they aim to sort out their woes between the sticks.

Number one choice Lukasz Fabianski's return has been welcomed by the club but both he and third-choice David Martin have missed time with injury this season, while second-choice Roberto is in desperate form and could be loaned out by the club.

Should Randolph re-establish himself as a starting Premier League goalkeeper, it would be a massive boost for Mick McCarthy's men heading into their crucial Euro 2020 playoff tie with Slovakia.
