As the refugees’ crisis aggravates in a number of Arab cities and officials complain over the danger of this phenomenon jeopardizing security and stability of some states, the Arab League headquarters hosted on Wednesday in Cairo the Fifth Meeting of the Joint Committee.

The committee consists of experts and representatives of ministries of justice and interior in a number of Arab states. The meeting aimed at studying the special Arab agreement on the refugees’ condition in Arab states.

The invitation for the meeting was made by the secretariat of the Arab League and the secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.

Ambassador Dr. Fadel Jawad, Assistant Secretary General, warned the head of the technical secretariat of the Arab Justice Ministers Council from the danger of the continuous influx of Arab refugees. He considered this problem one of the major concerns of the world.

The ambassador stressed that radical solutions must be sought with the assistance of experts. He underpinned the necessity of putting an Arab agreement to solve the problems of Arab refugees. Family reunification must be permitted, and refugees must be granted visas so that they don’t spend all their savings and be subject to death by drowning, the ambassador added.

Jawad demanded that the Arab states provide basics of a decent life, on top of them: education and healthcare.

Jordan, in the conclusion, requested that the recommendation must be binding. It added that the special agreement will be referred to the Arab Justice Ministers Council to adopt it in its coming session and then to the Arab Interior Ministers Council.
