Reports: Ravens, Patriots have interest in former Titans TE Delanie Walker

Former Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker remains on the open market, but the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots might have some interest in his services.

According to Josina Anderson, the Ravens are considering adding another tight end in training camp, and Walker is among the options, along with former Washington tight end, Jordan Reed.

On top of that, the Patriots are one of “several teams” also looking at Walker to fill their need at tight end, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Walker, who turns 35 this month, was cut by the Titans earlier this offseason after playing in just eight games the past two seasons due to injury issues with his ankle.

Depending on Walker to be a starter at this point in his career would be risky, but that’s not what Baltimore would need him for with Mark Andrews already locked-in as the team’s No. 1 tight end.

With New England, Walker would likely play a more prominent role than what he’d be asked to do in Baltimore, which could be more appealing to him, although he certainly has a better chance to win with the Ravens.

Walker still brings a lot to the table, especially in a backup role, as he’s both an impact pass-catcher and top-notch blocker when healthy.
