Reports of discrimination against recommendation letters of Telugu representatives not true: TTD

TIRUPATI: At a point of time when the two Telugu speaking states are at loggerheads over sharing of river-waters, reports of discrimination against the recommendation letters of elected representatives of Telangana state at Tirumala has left the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams red-faced.

Getting into the damage control mode quickly, TTD rubbished these reports as false and baseless.

The richest Hindu temples body in the country clarified in its statement that the pre-fixed quota of darshan tickets on recommendation letters of elected representatives and other VVIPs from Telangana were being entertained without any deviation.

"Last week some elected representatives from Telangana wanted darshan tickets beyond their existing quota but due to time constraints such requests were rejected. In some cases Rs.300 special entry darshan tickets were issued too", maintained TTD.

TTD appealed to the devotees not to believe rumours that the temple body was showing discrimination when it comes to entertaining the recommendation letters of elected representatives of Telangana.
