Judge suppresses video evidence in Robert Kraft’s solicitation case

A judge has granted Robert Kraft’s motion to suppress video evidence in his case for alleged solicitation of prostitution, according to multiple reports. Kraft is facing charges from incidents in January in which authorities say he sought prostitution at Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Investigators have said they have video evidence of the New England Patriots owner receiving sexual acts for money. Those videos, which will remain sealed under the judge’s order, are key in the state’s case against Kraft. With those videos out of the mix, Kraft’s attorney could file a motion to dismiss the charges based on lack of evidence, according to ESPN’s T.J. Quinn.

Prosecutors intended to release these videos, and could still appeal the decision from the judge to seal that evidence. They could also go to court without the videos as a part of the case. Kraft has denied all wrongdoing but issued a public apology after the charges were announced.

“I am truly sorry,” he wrote in a statement. “I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fan and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard.”
