A reporter accused of spying for Taiwan against China was put on trial in Beijing today. Ching Cheong, a correspondent for Singapore's main English language newspaper, The Straits Times, was detained in April 2005, and supposedly confessed to selling military secrets to Taiwan and to setting up a spy network. Ching's wife, Mary Lau, believes her husband is innocent and that he was framed. (Via Boston Globe)
