Reported MSU dual sport transfer Maliq Carr reopens recruitment

Former Purdue wide receiver/tight end Maliq Carr transferring to Michigan State is apparently no longer a done deal.

Earlier this week it was reported that Carr would be leaving Purdue to become a Spartan and play both football and basketball at Michigan State. However, Carr is now refuting that report and posted on Twitter on Saturday that “all schools can contact me.”

Carr is originally from Oak Park, Mich., and was a four-star recruit out of high school. He was ranked the No. 126 overall recruit and the No. 5 tight end in the country, according to 247Sports.

Carr’s latest comments could mean he’ll still end up in green-and-white, and that he simply isn’t ready to commit as it was reported earlier this week. However, it could also mean something changed from Thursday to Saturday and Carr is no longer considering Michigan State.

This will be a player and situation Michigan State fans will want to continue to monitor as he’d be a very addition to both the football and basketball programs.
