Reported Leeds United transfer target says goodbye in heartfelt social media post

Birmingham City teenager Amari Miller is leaving the Championship club this summer, he has confirmed in an Instagram post.

Miller posted a trio of images, thanking the staff, coaches, fans and his teammates at the Blues ahead of an anticipated move.

Leeds United are one of the clubs to have been linked with the 18-year-old, with some reports suggesting Elland Road will be Miller's destination.

It is likely that if Miller joins Leeds United, he will join up with Mark Jackson's U23 squad, owing to his minimal first-team experience.

Miller featured just a handful of times for the Blues' senior team last season, but is highly-rated among the first-team setup.

While there have been cursory comparisons to Jude Bellingham - another graduate of the Birmingham City academy - Miller is more of a wide midfielder than Bellingham who plays centrally and has appeared at UEFA Euro 2020 for England this summer.

In his heartfelt social media post, Miller wrote the following:

"Dear Blues Fans, Coaches and Staff,

"I send this message with a heavy heart: Sadly, it is time to say goodbye to the place I have called home since I was 10 years old. I am so grateful to the coaches, the staff, all the people at Birmingham City Football Club and most especially the fans, who have helped me get to this point in my career.

"As a kid all I ever dreamed of was putting on the 'Blue Shirt' for the first team, and last season that dream became a reality. That is something I will treasure for the rest of my life, a moment I am truly grateful for and only wished I could have experienced in front of the beloved fans at St. Andrew's.

"I am so proud to say I am a product of Birmingham and the BCFC Academy. I will never forget the club or the fans that have given me the opportunity to grow as a footballer, and most importantly, as a person. You will forever be in my heart.

"I am honestly going to miss the club, and I cherish all the memories I have experienced. Thank you for the last eight years of my life and until we meet again, KEEP RIGHT ON!" Miller finished.
