Report: WVU QB Will Grier takes pre-draft visit with Redskins

The Washington Redskins dipped toes into the quarterback market again ahead of the 2019 NFL draft via a reported meet with West Virginia’s Will Grier.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport had the report and this latest encounter comes on the heels of Jay Gruden meeting with him in mid-March.

Grier, who put up plenty of numbers in college but has his detractors due to his arm and release timing, is still one of those passers who could sneak his way into as early as the first round due to the scarcity of the position.

The Redskins have reportedly met with most of the big quarterback names during the process, including Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins.

With Case Keenum new in town, two quarterbacks on the mend and little else, the Redskins are clearly serious about the problem under center. Grier might give them a little flexibility if they don’t want to dedicate the No. 15 pick to the position.
