Report: WR Will Fuller suffered a broken finger in loss to Colts

This offseason, the Dolphins made pass-catching one of their top priorities. The first move they made to improve their receiving corps was signing Will Fuller to a one-year contract worth just over $10 million.

Through the first three weeks of the 2021 campaign, Fuller missed the opener due to suspension and Week 2 due to a personal matter. Then, in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, the former Texan left the game with a hand injury.

Monday, the team learned more about his condition, and it’s not great news.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Fuller broke a finger and is considered week-to-week, giving him a real chance to miss Sunday’s matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It’s not uncommon for Fuller to miss games. In his five seasons in Houston, Fuller played in at least 12 games only once, his rookie season.

The commitment to an often-injured wideout could have been considered a head-scratcher. However, it’s obvious just how much Miami needed a guy who could take the top off of defenses.

If the team and player get healthy and stay healthy, he could be a real game-changer.
