Report: WR David Moore will avoid injured reserve despite arm fracture

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver David Moore suffered an injury during Thursday’s practice that sidelined him for the team’s matchup Saturday night against the Chargers.

Coach Pete Carroll had told the reporters the initial diagnosis was a shoulder injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting Moore suffered a minor fracture in his upper arm.

Seahawks promising WR David Moore, who has a hairline fracture in his humerus, received his second opinion and is not slated to be placed on Injured Reserve, sources say,” Rapoport tweeted Monday afternoon. “Surprisingly positive news. He’ll miss the start of the season, but should be back sooner rather than later.”

With Seattle’s battle for wide receiver spots on the 53-man roster heating up, the prognosis looks positive for Moore, who appears to be fortunate enough to avoid a season-ending placement on injured reserve.

The Seahawks must trim their roster to 53 players by Aug. 31 at 1 p.m. PT.
