When you have had as much success as the Golden State Warriors have over the past few seasons, a lot of other teams are going to covet what you have. That means losing players and coaches who contribute to the team’s overall success.
The Phoenix Suns, a franchise that has had their struggles over the past few seasons, have dipped into the Warriors coaching pool to add to their new coach, Monty Williams’, staff.
According to NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole, the Suns will hire Warriors player development coach Willie Green to be Williams’ lead assistant in the Valley of the Sun.
Green was responsible for developing the young talent in Golden State for his one season with the Warriors. He will now be making a big jump to being the top assistant on Williams’ staff as the Suns will try to turn their franchise around in a positive direction.
