Report: West Virginia OT Yodny Cajuste has surgery (quad), out 3 months

The pre-draft injuries continue to hamper prospects as the event is just slightly under one month away.

Former West Virginia offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste was the latest to be hindered with one. Cajuste had surgery to repair his quad muscle. His timetable return will be three months, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:

Cajuste joins a group of potential first rounders that include defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (knee) and wide receiver Marquise Brown (foot) who are dealing with injuries.

That may not that be the only reason it pushes his stock down a bit as durability concerns have been risen before throughout his collegiate career. Cajuste sustained season-ending knee injuries in 2015 and 2016.

Cajuste started 30 games through his senior season, finishing his collegiate career as the Big 12’s Co-Offensive Lineman of the Year and All-Big 12 Conference First Team in 2018.

A stout pass protector, Cajuste’s power, mobility and length are all plus traits that are strong foundations to become a starting left tackle at the next level. His draft stock will likely fall between the second and fourth round now.
