Report: Washington plans to bring back free-agent kicker Dustin Hopkins

There was a report earlier this month that the Washington Football Team had intentions of bringing back two players who were set to hit the free-agent market later in March; CB Ronald Darby and K Dustin Hopkins.

Now, we are learning from NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay that the team is likely to announce a new contract with Hopkins later this week once free agency opens up on Wednesday, keeping him in D.C. for the foreseeable future.

Hopkins had a tough year in 2020, but he settled into the groove during the second half and was a solid placekicker for the team. He has an 84 percent make-percentage in his six years in Washington and is a veteran in the locker room.
