Report: Rookie WR Terry McLaurin is ACTIVE against the Patriots

After missing last week’s game against the New York Giants, the Redskins are optimistic that rookie receiver Terry McLaurin will be able to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, a source has told him that McLaurin will still go through pre-game warmups to make sure that all is in order, but people around the team are hopeful that he has a good chance of playing. Without tight ends Jordan Reed or Vernon Davis, Washington will desperately need a dynamic pass-catcher to go to as Colt McCoy tries to find a few rare holes in the Patriot’s top-ranked defense.

Should McLaurin be ruled out for the game, the Redskins will be forced to rely on both Paul Richardson Jr. and Trey Quinn, as well as receiver Cam Sims, who Washington signed from their practice squad this past week.

As a game-time decision, McLaurin’s status likely will not be announced until 90 minutes before kickoff, when the inactive’s list is released.
