Report: Washington has asked for CB Denzel Ward in return for Trent Williams

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Redskins have been asking for some high-profile players in return for left tackle Trent Williams, with little success.

The Cleveland Browns have been the main trade partner in talks with Washington, hoping to acquire the seven-time Pro-Bowler, and the Redskins have reportedly been hoping to get a 1st-round pick in return for Williams. However, Rapoport reported on Tuesday afternoon that the Redskins are also asking for big-name players, such as cornerback Denzel Ward in return.

Rapoport says that that request is a non-starter, and they will be more likely to receive a bundle of draft picks in return for their 31-year-old tackle who hasn’t played in several months.
