Report: Warriors to waive 33-year old veteran Shaun Livingston

The Golden State Warriors are ready to head into a new era of their franchise after a dominant five-year run. The Warriors have already lost Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets, Andre Iguodala to the Memphis Grizzlies and a few other pieces. Now, they’re waving goodbye to another mainstay.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors will waive veteran Shaun Livingston. He is guaranteed $2 million of his $7.7 million salary for the season and the Warriors wanted to get away from that. He is still determined to play for a contender and he has plenty of experience from his time with the Warriors. He was a part of those five Finals appearances and three NBA titles.

Livingston averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in his five seasons in Golden State and he averaged four points and 1.8 rebounds in the 2018-19 season. He began to really show his age and the Warriors are ready to move on in a different direction.
