Report: Warriors sign Jerome Robinson to two-way contract

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Golden State Warriors have signed 26-year-old shooting guard Jerome Robinson to a two-way contract. Robinson will team with Lester Quinones and Usman Garuba on the Santa Cruz Warriors as Golden State’s third and final two-way player. Robinson entered the NBA in 2018 as the 13th pick by the LA Clippers.

However, the 6-foot-4 shooting guard has struggled to live up to his lottery selection. Robinson also spent time with the Washington Wizards. The onetime Boston College player was not on an NBA roster last season. Nevertheless, Robinson will be given an opportunity to develop and impress with the Warriors and could see some playing time at the end of games.

The Warriors have been steadily adding talent in recent weeks but still have one open spot on their 15-man roster. Mike Dunleavy recently hinted Golden State could keep the final roster spot open heading into the season so the franchise has roster flexibility in the opening months.

Robinson will likely hope his tenure with the Warriors can lead to a longer stay in the NBA, either with the franchise or elsewhere. Still, the fourth-year guard will need to impress and begin showing signs of being the player that convinced the Clippers to take him so high in the 2018 draft.

The Warriors are preparing for their media day, which is set to take place on Oct. 2.
