It’s been three weeks since the NBA suspended the 2019-20 season until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since their loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on March 10, the Golden State Warriors have postponed 12 games and counting.
With the COVID-19 outbreak looming, the Chase Center in San Francisco has been empty. Along with Golden State’s remaining seven home games, concerts and other events in the Mission Bay arena have been put on hold. Musical performances featuring Billie Eilish, Tame Impala and Post Malone have been removed from the Chase Center calendar.
Shortly after the NBA shutdown, The Golden State Warriors’ ownership group, along with players and coaches, pledged to donate $1 million to a disaster relief fund for Chase Center employees.
With the league’s hiatus growing, the Warriors are increasing their donation. According to Larry Beil of ABC 7 Bay Area, Golden State’s is jumping their pledge to $1.4 million.

Once the NBA season returns, the Warriors still have 17 games left on the schedule. However, there are still questions surrounding the logistics in the league’s return to action. A centralized location for all contests and games without fans in attendance have been ideas floating in regards to the NBA’s return.
In the meantime, the Golden State Warriors are trying to help take care of Chase Center’s employees.
