Report: Warriors holding ‘IQ tests’ with draft prospects during Zoom interviews

Instead of preparing for another run at the NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors have turned their attention to the draft. With a league-worst 15-50 record, the Warriors are in line for a top-draft pick for the first time in years.

Similar to the regular season, the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on the 2020 edition of draft day. With the NBA draft combine and lottery on hold, the Warriors are forced to use alternate routes when it comes to draft prep.

According to Jonathan Wasserman of Bleacher Report, the Warriors are apart of a group of teams holding a form of “IQ tests” during Zoom interviews with different draft-eligible players. Prospects are going through different timed exercises.

Along with the Warriors, Wasserman mentions the Minnesota Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets, Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics as the group of teams holding virtual IQ tests.

With teams around the league preparing to return to practice facilities along with target dates being thrown around for game action, the Warriors could soon get clarity on the next steps for the draft.

In the meantime, the duo of Steve Kerr and Bob Myers could continue to explore all options when it comes to draft research.
