Report: Vikings will release WR Laquon Treadwell if they can’t trade him

It’s been no secret that the Vikings have been shopping 2016 first-round pick Laquon Treadwell.

With hours before the Vikings must finalize their 53-man roster, Courtney Cronin of ESPN is reporting that if the Vikings can’t trade Treadwell, he will be released.

I can confirm that Laquon Treadwell will be released by 3 pm if the Vikings aren't able to move him before then. Minnesota has tried to move the 1st rounder for more than a year now. I remember sitting here last cut-down day as a trade w/ an AFC East team never came to fruition.

Treadwell has been a huge disappointment in Minnesota, and for a team needing depth at wide receiver, he’s had every opportunity to succeed.

We’ll see in a few hours what Treadwell’s fate is.
