Report: Vikings to workout former AAF QB Brandon Silvers

The Vikings are in the backup quarterback market.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former Memphis Express quarterback Brandon Silvers is expected to work out for the Vikings next week.

Prior to his time with the Express, Silvers played four seasons at Troy from 2014-17. In his senior season, he threw for 3,290 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

His stats with the Express weren’t incredibly impressive in 2018, throwing for 799 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions on the season.

The Vikings have been linked to Sean Mannion, who came in last week for a visit but left without a deal.

The only quarterback besides Kirk Cousins is Kyle Sloter. Sloter has never taken an NFL snap.
