Report: Vikings RB Dalvin Cook planning to holdout because he felt disrespected by Minnesota’s offer

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook will not take part in team-related activities until a reasonable deal is reached, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN recently went on SportsCenter to discuss the Cook situation (H/T Bleacher Report):

“I’m told he’s planning to hold out simply because he felt disrespected by the offer the Vikings put on the table. This is a player that believes he’s one of the best at his position, but he wasn’t asking really for Chirstian McCaffrey money, which is $16 million per year. He would probably take less than that. So they have about a month to try to find a sweet spot before training camp or else he plans to not show up.”

The Athletic’s Chad Graff said Cook isn’t asking for money on-par with McCaffrey’s yearly average. Graff reported that Cook is looking for money more like what David Johnson is getting, so about $13 million, which a report by ESPN’s Courtney Cronin corroborates.

I think if Cook is looking for $13 million, then the Vikings should try and make it work. Here’s why.
