Report: Vikings interested in re-signing OL Brett Jones

The Vikings haven’t made much noise this offseason as far as addressing the offensive line goes.

That’s likely why they are showing interest in Brett Jones, who the team traded for before last season, per Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press.

The Vikings traded a seventh-round pick for Jones from the Giants after Nick Easton underwent season-ending neck surgery and the team realized Pat Elflein might miss the start of the season, which he did, enabling Jones to start the first three games of the season.

It might be tough to bring Jones back considering the Vikings have only $1.8 million in cap space after signing kicker Dan Bailey earlier on Tuesday. They’d have to be creative and with Jones having other potential deals out there, it kind of seems unlikely, but we’ll see.
