Report: Vikings DE Danielle Hunter misses 10th consecutive practice

Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter has not practiced since August 14, but when Mike Zimmer spoke about Hunter’s situation with the media recently, the coach said that the defensive end only has a little tweak.

Zimmer said that Hunter has been  “getting a little better every day.” Hunter’s return to practice is up to athletic trainer Eric Sugarman, Zimmer said, via ESPN’s Courtney Cronin.

That said, Hunter has continued to miss practice since Zimmer cleared the air with reporters. He has now missed 10 consecutive practices, according to multiple reports. There is no official report of what kind of tweak Hunter has.

The Vikings defensive end has tallied 14.5 sacks for two straight seasons. He became the youngest player to reach 50 career sacks in 2019. He also signed a renegotiated contract this offseason, lowering his cap hit.

So Hunter is a key player for the Vikings and all things considered the team is getting him for a relative bargain based on his high level of play. Hopefully for the Vikings, the team’s top defensive end can return to practice soon.
