Report: Vikings claim S Andrew Sendejo off waivers

A day after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles, safety Andrew Sendejo has been claimed by his former team, the Minnesota Vikings, per multiple reports.

The hard-hitting safety played eight seasons with the Vikings from 2011-18. Sendejo started 58 of 93 games with the Vikings, primarily from 2015-17.

He signed with the Eagles this offseason. He’s appeared in nine games, starting one, with Philadelphia.

It’s unclear how Sendejo will fit in on this team considering the Vikings appear set at safety with Harrison Smith and Anthony Harris, but of course, depth is always an important thing — especially someone who is familiar with Mike Zimmer’s system.

Sendejo, 32, has made more than $15 million in his career via Spotrac.
