Report: Vikings CB Mike Hughes set to make 2019 debut against the Raiders

The Minnesota Vikings will have their 2018 first-round pick back against the Oakland Raiders Sunday afternoon.

Mike Hughes, the former University of Central Florida cornerback, is coming off a torn ACL in 2018. In the six games that Hughes played last season, he recorded 22 total tackles and an interception for a touchdown.

The Vikings will be getting a boost in a banged-up secondary with the addition of Hughes. Starting nickelback Mackensie Alexander will be sidelined in Sunday’s matchup, so that is likely where Hughes will see the majority of his time if given the opportunity.

There is still a good chance that Hughes will not be rushed onto the field. With a strong performance last week by Jayron Kearse, the Vikings don’t need to rush the return of Hughes.

The Vikings will nearly have their full secondary heading into Sunday’s game. They’ll look to get back on track against the Raiders at 12 PM CT at U.S. Bank Stadium.
