Report: Vikings CB Jeff Gladney now has grand jury date of July 29

Vikings CB Jeff Gladney’s case now has a grand jury date of July 29, according to Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune.

The decision on whether Gladney will be indicted is expected to come by August 2, per Krammer.

The grand jury date was originally slated for July 22. Gladney faces a charge of third degree felony family violence assault, according to J.D. Miles of CBS 11 News. If convicted, he is looking at 2-10 years in prison.

The victim said she was in a relationship with the Vikings player. Detectives reported bruising on the head, ears and torso of the victim. Gladney is accused of hitting and choking the victim. He is also accused of dragging her by the hair with her outside his vehicle.

Minnesota chose Gladney in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has been absent from the team’s offseason activities amid the case. There has yet to be any official punishment dealt out by the league as of now.
